Frequently Asked Questions
If this is your first time in therapy or your hundredth time in therapy, here are some things to know about my practice. If you don't see your question answered here, feel free to contact me.

How long is a session?My sessions are 50-minutes long.

Are you covered under insurance?Individual insurance plans vary. While most plans do cover psychotherapists, please check with your individual provider.

Do you do direct billing?Direct billing is unavailable at this time. Clients send an e-transfer and I issue a receipt for reimbursement.

How many sessions will I need?Everyone’s journey is unique. I see my clients generally once a week or once every two weeks to develop momentum. As change happens and skills become second nature, frequency decreases.

What kind of therapy do you do?My practice is a holistic approach that utilizes elements of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS) and is guided by Dr. Betty Martin's Wheel of Consent framework.

What is your fee? Do you have a sliding scale?I offer a sliding scale fee to clients with demonstrated financial need on a case by case basis. For my general fee, please contact me.

Do you offer a free consultation?No free consultations are offered at this time.

Do you offer in-person sessions?My practice is almost entirely online. During the summer months, Toronto-based clients have the option of meeting in a location outdoors.

What methods of payment do you accept?Clients typically e-transfer at the end of the session. I can accept credit cards, but there is an additional fee for that service.
